Learning Objectives
Knowledge: The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles of instrumental analysis. Selected laboratory practices on the course topics.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: Applications and potential applications of selected analytical techniques for clinical, environmental and food analysis will be illustrated.
Communicative skills: students acquire the ability to communicate knowledge, problems and solutions related to instrumental analysis
Autonomy of judgment: Acquisition of expertise in analytical instrumental techniques and evaluation of the analytical data.

Oral test in order verify the knowledge, the ability to apply knowledge, autonomy of judgment, the skills to communicate the issues related to analytical techniques.
Course program
The analytical process: sampling and sample preparation, Automation, Miniaturization, Microfluidic system, Lab on chip, Point-of-care systems. Advanced separation techniques: Field Flow Fractionation, Capillary electrophoresis, UHPLC, nanoLC. Immunochemistry and Enzymatic based methods. Biosensors and Chemosensors. Electroanalytical methods: cyclic voltammetry, amperometry and chronoamperometry, further voltammetric techniques, stripping voltammetry for trace analysis, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, scanning electrochemical microscopy, photoelectrochemistry. Analytical Spectroscopy. Selected laboratory experiments.
